Navigating the Enterprise AI Landscape: Ensuring Readiness and Compliance

Before organisations can adopt AI, it needs to be enterprise-ready. But what is Enterprise-Ready? Simply put, Enterprise-Ready AI Solutions are the ones that management teams feel comfortable implementing for internal and external users.

Enterprise AI solutions comply with an organisation’s regulatory and compliance standards, ensuring data privacy, security and ethical standards.

Many of the ‘consumer’ focused AI tools that we all use with great joy and excitement are not in the category of Enterprise AI. They do a great job and help us work much faster, but they are not tools organisations are comfortable implementing company-wide.

And when these consumer quality services are implemented, it quickly becomes clear that they can cause harm to an organisation’s credibility. Just look at a few examples:

đź‘ŽAir Canada’s Chatbot: Air Canada’s chatbot created a non-existent refund policy.

đź‘ŽChevy Dealership Incident: A Chevy dealer’s chatbot sold a 2024 Chevy Tahoe for $1.

đź‘ŽInappropriate Responses: Chatbots learn and repeat inappropriate or offensive language.

đź‘ŽMental Health Advice: A mental health chatbot giving harmful and dangerous diet advice.

There is, however, positive news for organisations wanting to implement enterprise-grade AI solutions. More and more techniques are introduced that increase AI solutions’ accuracy, reliability and robustness.

The challenge for AI enthusiasts like me, AI engineers, and CTOs or CIOs is keeping up with the fast-evolving landscape of possible AI-enhancing technologies.

What is out there? Where can I find documentation or start my investigative journey? And that is where my blog comes in.

I previously briefly discussed AI-enhancing technologies like RAG, CRAG, FLARE and MoE on my LinkedIn account and will continue to do so in this blog. Providing you with an overview that could help your organisation implement an enterprise-grade AI solution.

To set the right expectation, I will not dive deeply into technical documentation; others are much better at that. My goal is to provide you with an entry point that explains what is out there, what it does and how it can help you provide robust AI services to your employees and customers.
